New Year, Better You!

Posted on 22 January 2017

We always start the new year with the best of intentions. We set goals and resolutions for the year with the highest hopes of achieving them. As the first month of 2017 comes to a close we’d thought it would be a good time to give you a few tips to help you stay on course this year.

Surround yourself with positive people
Say bye bye to the naysayers! Ever heard of the saying "Birds of a feather flock together"? It is important to surround yourself with like-minded people who will help you on your path to success. Rid yourself of negativity that will only bring you down and sabotage your vision. Instead, create a close circle with people who will support you and raise you up.

Make a plan
When setting goals it is important to make sure your targets are within reach. Set small measurable goals that you can track your progress with. We often set lofty goals for ourselves without outlining how we will get there. Make sure you plan the small daily steps that will get you to your end result will help increase your chances of success.

Run your own race
It's often easy to find yourself comparing yourself with others and measuring your success with theirs. Or even worse finding yourself subject to others judgment and criticism due to misplaced jealousy and insecurities that are outside of your control. Try not to let these things distract you and don't engage in immature hostility. Stick with your plan, run your own race and you will get where you're going in due time. And the best part is you will do it with integrity and grace.

Have Faith
Once you've put in the work and done all you can it's time to leave the rest up to God. In the end, everything will work out the way its meant to be and if it is not what you expected then know that that was always the plan and look back at what you learned and gained along the way. Because sometimes it's about the journey and not the destination.

We want to know, what do you do to stay on track?

Stay Humble,
Yusra S
