Modest Fashion Brand Mode-ste Take On The Dragons
Posted on 29 November 2016
There’s been a lot of talk about Muslim’s breaking boundaries in mainstream media lately. Just last Wednesday modest fashion brand Mode-ste based out of Montreal, Canada appeared on the popular Canadian program Dragon’s Den to ask for funding to expand their brand and business. Although they left the show without making a deal it’s important to note and celebrate this major accomplishment.
Aicha and her mother, a seamstress started the brand in their Montreal basement. Like many Muslim women who have grown up in the western world, Aicha struggled to find a balance between stylish yet modest fashion. As a result the popular modest fashion brand was born.
This family affair also includes Aicha’s husband Bilal. Together they strive to create modern, high quality, and ethically produced clothing. By keeping their design studio in Montreal, Aicha and Bilal can maintain control over employing experienced sewers, can keep a close eye on quality assurance, and ensure fair wages are paid.
Great job Mode-ste! Can’t wait to see what amazing things come next for you!
